Coffee

Brazilian coffee brand Ipanema Espresso was one of the first coffee producers in the world to be certified by the Rainforest Alliance (currently only 6 in Brazil). Certification is even fairer than ‘Fairtrade’ and is a seal of approval guaranteeing consumers that the products they are buying are the result of practices carried out according to a specific set of criteria balancing ecological, economic and social considerations.

Where Fairtrade gives farmers a guaranteed price for their product, Rainforest Alliance standards promote sustainable farm management. The Ipanema Social Action Programme works with the local community through education and social support offering real long term value for their workers - more than just a minimum wage.

Ipanema coffee is a speciality coffee. It is grown, picked and processed on a single estate in Minas, Gerais in Brazil and to top it off The Ipanema Estate has also won awards including the Cup of Excellence, the highest accolade a producer can achieve.
